Cheshire High School Honor Roll

Congrats to students making the honor roll. Of the seniors making the highest level, all dozen students were female less one or two males. I am all for equal opportunity, but seems odd that the boys arent striving as hard. The Curmudgeons theory is video games may be a cause.

Republican State Convention

Went to the Convention on Friday. Good experience.

Congrats to winners. Winsleys talk was great.

Sort of a long day, After hearing lots of speaches on lower taxes, sort of numbs enthusiasm.

Nationalized Legal Coverage

The DC crowd nationalized Healthcare because it was "too expensive". No one can argue legal costs are outrageous, using the same logic, we should nationalize legal services. They won't, because it is about loss of freedom rather than inability to pay.

We get a good value from modern medicine, not so from the legal community.

Pedro Segara

I hear good things about the Mayor of Hartford. I would rather R governors, but Pedro would be better than Busay Malloy.

Caveat Emptor

At a store (AutoZone) and picked up some parts advertised on sale. Computer rang up regular. Price. Manager fixed it once i pointed it out. Seems to be a method they use to make a little extra, as this has happened several times. Caveat Emptor.

LFDH

Just to prove the CT Curmudgeon is not 100 % curmudgeon. Here is some some of the lighter side.

The Live from Daryls House series has great old and new music. A good live show too. Check it out!

Gas Tax Rally April 21; 11 AM

Meet in Cheshire at the Gulf Station, by Pauls. Sen Markley and Suzio will be there. Love those guys! Love the food at Pauls too.

Regulation Crisis..not a job crisis or gas crisis

The dopes in DC think regulation has only positive outcomes. In reality, if they regulate smuch, it gets hard to hire/fire/drill/ refine etc.

Summer of 2012

Question

Would a dirty politician from Chicago stand in the way from an attack on NYC if

It would create a crisis to be used to rig an election?

It would allow Chicago to be the preminint city in the country?

Would he stage it?

Humor

Check out fxhummel1 on Youtube for some second amendment humor.

Sometimes we need a break from the serious side.

Got Free Press?

We need bumper stickers like this!

In America today, we don't, not the mainstream anyway. Thank goodness for the net and AM radio. Oh yes, and Brad Davis too! He is a peach.

Public School

There are numerous "Professional Development Days" in the school calender. No classes on these days. There are lots of them too.

This shows the teachers care more about themselves than teaching. If it is so important, why not work Saturdays like the rest of the coutry does. NEA wont give this up

Government Advertising

I heard an ad on the radio sponsored by the USDA. It was a nicely produced voice of a senior lady trying to keep up with her grand children, she thanked the food stamp program for allowing her to buy vegtables. The Curmudgeon mobile almost went into the ditch!. Soliciting for welfare programs. No governmant agency should do ads like this. Time to call congress.....again.

Ivy League Colleges

Socialism, in general, has a record of failure that's so blatant that only an intellectual could ignore or evade it.

Wow, that says it all. We are influenced by people that are very smart, but lack common sense. Huge endowments and tenure work for them, and they want to extend this system to the rest of us. They forget it is the capotilists that left the colleges the money they spend, and whose they attack. Sad, they are so short sited.

GM Dealerships

GM was in a massive slump, gets taken over by BHO, and now driving around the northeast, i see many dealerships getting massive facelifts on their showrooms. We are talking big dollar projects. Is GM paying for this? They can't. I would bet these area all union jobs. Not a peep in the press about this. What press? I guess it is our job now to do their job of highlighting wasteful spending.
